23. Ancestral Night by Elizabeth Bear (science fiction).
24. The Migration by Helen Marshall (science fiction).
25. The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler (science fiction). SF with intelligent cephalopods – yay!
26. Mammoths at the Gates by Nghi Vo (fantasy).
27. Seven Deaths of an Empire by G. R. Matthews (fantasy).
28. Beyond the Hallowed Sky by Ken McLeod (science fiction). Lightspeed Trilogy vol 1.
29. Beyond the Reach of Earth by Ken McLeod (science fiction). Lightspeed Trilogy vol 2. I would have read the 3rd one if the library hadn’t ‘improved’ their reservation software so the book arrives but they don’t tell you!
30. Dissidence by Ken McLeod (science fiction). Corporation Wars #1.
31. Insurgence by Ken McLeod (science fiction). Corporation Wars #2.
32. Emergence by Ken McLeod (science fiction). Corporation Wars #3.
33. Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh (science fiction).

39. Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky (science fiction).
40. Strange Attractors by Jaine Fenn (science fiction/fantasy).
41. Bringer of Light by Jaine Fenn (science fiction/fantasy). Hidden Empire 4
42. Queen of Nowhere by Jaine Fenn (science fiction/fantasy). Hidden Empire 5
43. Wodwo Vergil by Adam Roberts (humour/lit crit). This is delightful. A not at all serious ‘translation’ of Vergil’s Ecologues.
44. Dead of Winter by Stuart MacBride (crime).
45. No Less the Devil by Stuart MacBride (crime) Oldcastle #5.
46. In a Place of Darkness by Stuart MacBride (crime). Oldcastle #6.
47. The Woman With the Map by Jan Casey (historical). Good plot, but not done her research! E.g. the heroine says “ta” instead of “thank you” in every social situation. Still it is miles better than movie and telly stuff where the writers have forgotten there was a blackout and strict light discipline during the Blitz.
48. Where God Does Not Walk by Luke McCallin (crime/historical).
49. The Ferryman by Justin Cronin (science fiction).
50. The Hunter by Tom Wood (thriller).
51. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton (science fiction).
52. Generation Nemesis by Sean MacMullen (science fiction). I love this book but it does perpetuate the myth that global warming = Earth turns into a desert. For fek sake look at some paleoclimate maps! Ice Age = deserts expand, forests shrink; greenhouse climate = deserts shrink, forests expand (assuming farmers let them).
53. Things They’ll Never See by Martin Tracey (horror).
54. Leaving Meridiana by J. A. Mortimore (science fiction).
55. Minimum Safe Distance by X. Ho Yen (science fiction).
56. The Murders of Conky Whallop by David Wake (crime/humour).
57. Before Mars by Emma Newman (science fiction).
58. Somewhere A Voice by Eric Frank Russell (science fiction/anthology). I’d forgotten how fun some of these are.

60. Holding Wonder by Zenna Henderson (science fiction/anthology).
61. Him by Geoff Ryman (science fiction/alternative hiistory).
62. Red Rising by Pierce Brown (science fiction).
63. Artificial Condition by Martha Wells (science fiction). Murderbot Diaries #2
64. The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff (crime). A chance pick up at the library, which turned out to be awesome
65. Cat Lover by Dan Spencer (sort of magical realism). Annoying writing style. I guessed the plot twist very early on, and there are other plot elements which are never resolved. Almost gave up reading it, but I wanted to see if I was right. Fluke by James Herbert did it better.
66. War Cry by Wilbur Smith (thriller/historical).
