I'm trying to switch gas suppliers. But the number on my gas meter is registered to a gas meter on a house on the other side of the city, and according to the National Gas Database, my street doesn't exist!
The physical meter has the right number, but with an S tagged on the end. I've sent a photo of it to the new suppliers.
I've contacted the old suppliers, and they assure me they've been billing the right address - it is just the wrong postcode tagged to my address on the National Gas Database. They have put in a request to have that altered to the correct postcode. That apparently takes 5 working days!
